The Hale/Light-3A5 is the first in a new series of light armoured vehicles produced by KHA Corporation for the Escean military in 2098. Named after Escean General Oswald T. Goldie, the vehicle was acquired by both the Army and Marine Corps to supply reconnaissance battalions. Designed with scouting in mind, the Goldie is equipped with a myriad of sensors and surveillance systems. Its graphene coated armour can adjust visually to alter camouflage patterns as required, or mimic the surrounding environment, while a regulated temperature element allows the vehicle to adjust its IR signature to fool thermal optics. The combination of one piece rubber/alloy matrix band tracks and all-electric drive makes the Goldie incredibly quiet, further improving its stealth capabilities.

The Goldie may also provide light infantry fire support, being equipped with an autoloading, 90mm EAC firing tungsten carbide penetrator rounds. The unusual offset design of the turret, placing the main gun on the left, allowed for a secondary heavy weapon to be employed on the right side. The 25mm K-52 Autocannon feeds from a flexible chute and drum system, which can be topped up from the vehicle interior, and can fire a variety of ammunition types including APFDS, HEDP, and API. A co-axial M-55A2 machine gun is mounted on the left side of the 90mm cannon.

The tank has extensive suite of armour packages and active/passive defence measures, including ERA, smoke dischargers, and laser dazzlers.
