K-Class freighter's are derived from the military Pandoran's, albeit 20% smaller. Several major redesigns include a repositioning of the engines, deletion of the two 4-cluster units, moving the bridge to the bow and increasing the size of the cargo hold. The crew of a K-Class barely tops twenty personnel.

While not as powerful as a Pandoran, these ships are still FTL-capable and suffer the same problems when exposed to a planet's gravity. As such, deliveries and pick ups made by these freighters are conducted at specialised docking ports above the planet, with cargo being shipped from the surfrace via space elevator. K-Class units are used in a variety of transport roles, from palletised to container-loaded cargo, to tankers, bulk and ore carriers. Unlike Pandoran's, which are limited to Escean military and Escean Inter-Nations Forum units, K-Class vessels are commercially available to any human country and any alien race capable of footing the 80 billion Dura (70 billion in System's Bonds) pricetag.
